Developer – Burt Hixson
With 47 years in the restaurant/hospitality business, Burt has been named “Restaurateur of the Year” by his industry and later, “Citizen of the Year,” by his community.   In 1984, he purchased and created what is now “Villa Verano,” a highly respected and successful rental estate on the Mexican Riviera. He has traveled 4 times around the world to 93 countries studying the top resorts and now with his partner, Gerry Battle, is developing one of the most environmentally mindful, unique private beach clubs on the Mexican Riviera.

Developer – Gerry Battle
A graduate of the University of NC in Chapel Hill, Gerry is gifted with an extensive background in the travel and hospitality industry. A specialist in guest services on numerous cruise lines and later, in his own travel agency, he has commandeered a vast knowledge of what the discriminating traveler demands. In 1991, Gerry became a managing partner in Villa Verano and today, he is utilizing his attention to service detail to develop an extraordinary one-of-a-kind destination club.

Resident Manager – Michael Holland
Beginning a career with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, Michael became the youngest Chief Purser in the fleet, catering to celebrities and dignitaries for over 12 years. Later, he operated Holland Travel, specializing in cruise travel and villa rentals worldwide. Michael holds a Bachelor of Science in Hotel and Restaurant Management with additional training at the Institute of Tourism and Hotel Management in Salzburg, Austria.

General Manager – Ray Careme
Ray hails from the Champagne capital of the world, Epernay, France. After extensive culinary training in Europe, he furthered his career with Royal Caribbean Cruise Line, as Assistant food and beverage manager and later served in management at the Patina Group in Los Angeles, under the direction of celebrity chef, Joachim Splichal. In recent years, Ray became a partner at Holland Travel, and is now bringing his multilingual skills, knowledge and passion of food and wine to the club.

Builders – Bustos y Associados
The Bustos brothers, Gerardo and Antonio, are both civil engineer graduates of the University of Guadalajara. Considered two of the most reliable and talented builders in Puerto Vallarta, these respected gentlemen have a fine reputation of superb construction of hotels, sports clubs, and private Villas including Villa Verano. They are a great addition to the club’s development.

Interior Architect – Eloisa Santos Huerta
Eloisa is a proud graduate of the Architectural School at the University of Guadalajara and now a professor there as well. With a keen eye and artistic flare for bringing empty spaces to life, she has been Puerto Vallarta’s masterful “wizard” of space design for 18 years. For our club, she has a created a phenomenal view not only from every bathroom, but also from every bed.

Interior Designer – Roberta Seeburger
With over 30 years of experience, she is known as one of Puerto Vallarta’s foremost designers. A perfectionist in natural, local materials and folk art, Roberta is a master of vivid hues of Mexico, and the perfect addition to our design team.
